Tough call for me since I do a lot better in my Type 4 and O-I Experimental than I do in my 50B or Bat-Chat. I suppose I could buy the tier 9 Foch that I've had unlocked for a year and never bought (Absolutely hated the AC Mile and heard they nerfed the crap out of the Foch's).

Quick update: I played for about 3 1/2 hours last night and got 50,000 XP. I probably won about 50% of my games and played OK (Didn't have an outstanding night by any means) so I'm guessing my 10 minutes per game estimate might be high. I ran my 6 grinders (1 T6, 1 T7, & 4 T9) and then concentrated on Tier 8 premiums and Tier 10's. The only non-grinder tank below tier 8 I played was my 34-88 because it gets such a good XP boost. Only played daily doubles - no repeats for the same tank unless I lost. Tier 10's and tier 8 premiums seem to be the key because, even in a loss, if you play fairly well you can get 700 - 1,200 XP. And with the silver boost on Tier 10 right now, it's a no brainer. As Joe suggested, as soon as I died, I jumped right into another match.
I only wish the XP from ops counted toward the total.
The other thing: I thought this op ended on the last day of February, but I saw posted on the main forums that it runs through March 1st. If that's the case, there are 11 days to complete it rather than 10.
Feeling a little better about it than I did yesterday...I MIGHT be a winner...

I would love to get this tank because I like Russian heavies and it seems a lot better than the IS-6. Unfortunately, after doing some basic math, I don't think it's going to be possible for me. I average about 1,000 XP per game based on my WG stats. So 400,000 XP/1,000 XP Per Game = 400 Games. 400 Games/10 Days to Complete = 40 Games Per Day. 40 Games x 10 Minutes/Game (Guess) = 400 Minutes Per Day. 400 Minutes/60 Minutes Per Hour= 7 Hours Per Day.
Yeah....don't see that happening. :thumbsdown:

Finished this op on Monday and played one game in it....love the hit power, but the aim time is SOOOOOOOOOOOO long. I get that it's a Russian tank and even equipped a GLD, but was still shocked at the aim time.

Hmmm...tempting, but I think I will wait for a base Skorpion package, or tech tree offering. 24.5kG is a lot of real money :coin:
I thought I read somewhere that there is a base package for sale starting on 08/22....but I thought the price was still like 12K gold.

It's the Tier 7 TD Challenger. Other than a turret and decent mobility, this thing has NOTHING going for it. Crappy pen, abysmal alpha damage, and it's the size of a house so it has a camo rating of 0.0. If you took the Fury and put a gigantic bulbous head on top of it, that would be the Challenger. The poor alpha and lack of camo makes pop and shoot tactics pointless and about as much fun as a colonoscopy without an anesthetic.
Being a type A personality, it is very difficult for me not to finish grinding a tank once I start it, however I just couldn't do it with this hideous thing. It is the first tank I've ever quit on and sold before finishing (I used about 80,000 free XP to rid myself of the abomination that is the Comet).
There is a silver lining: after selling the thing, I decided to finish the 110E3 tree since I had previously gone down the E4 variant. I bought the Jackson and I'm really enjoying that tank. I'm sure I'll miss the turret once I get to the 25AT and beyond, but so far I'm liking the grind.

I've pretty much sucked since coming back to tanks about a month ago so this has been a painful process. I'm sitting at 275 points and have given myself a goal of 25 points a day. At this point, I think the best I'm going to do is the AC IV Exp (**** tank) and maybe a little bit of silver.
I did discover a new tank to add to the grind rotation: the tier 3 Panzer S35 (Dunkirk tank). I assumed this thing would be another worthless tier 3 freebie, but I took it out last night and did surprisingly well in it. I probably ran it 6-7 times and got points in all but one battle. It even held it's own in a couple of tier 5 battles. It doesn't have the greatest mobility, but it's got a decent gun, good ROT, good aim time, and a little bit of armor. I can pen some tier 5's with premium rounds so it's not a total waste if you end up bottom tier.

The DS is kind of the opposite of the Tortoise - where as the Tortoise is kind of a "death by a thousand cuts" machine, the DS is more of a "I'll just chop your head off in one swipe machine."
My only advice: use HESH and only HESH...

When I saw this op, I was kind of psyched because I love Russian tanks and thought it would get me back into tanking after a bit of a break. Now I'm about 20 games in with no medal and, after reading some of the "fun" others are having with the op, might have to forget it. Totally get that the entire op is built around RNG, but after my 5th 1.25 silver award in a row, the anal rage started to take over....

+1 to Borderlands 2. You can play that thing for hours and hours - either coop or solo. If you end up liking it, there is a ton of good DLC for it as well.
